Second Xiangxi Tourism Development Conference kicks off

The Second Xiangxi Tourism Development Conference was held in Fenghuang Ancient Town of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture on the evening of July 13.

Along the Tuojiang River, the Miao drum performances and fireworks started the “Night of Cultural Tourism” of Fenghuang Ancient Town. The whole artistic performance consisted of three chapters, including the Charm of Fenghuang, the Soul of Xiangxi and the Dream of the World. It presented the precious memory and splendid ethnic customs of Xiangxi through intangible cultural heritage display, songs, dances and recitation. Also, it showcased the development achievements of Xiangxi’s cultural and tourism industry, and led the audience to experience a high-quality audio-visual event of cultural and tourism arts.

At the opening ceremony, Xiangxi Biancheng Airport signed the strategic cooperation agreement on aviation market development with China Southern Airlines and Capital Airlines. Fenghuang Ancient Town reached the strategic cooperation agreement of sister cities with Changting County of Fujian Province, Pingyao County of Shanxi Province, and Gucheng District of Lijiang City in Yunnan Province to build cooperation platforms and promote resource sharing.
